New Marriott Hotel for Thailand Holiday Hotspot

The international hotel sector is booming and as Marriott International unveils its latest Courtyard hotel in Thailand, the luxurious beach resort of South Pattaya is very much in the spotlight

Just moments away from the vibrant beach promenade of Pattaya, the 132-room Courtyard by Marriott branded hotel recently opened its doors to guests in the country known throughout the world for its warm hospitality.

The hotel is the latest addition to Marriott's already bulging portfolio of the Courtyard brand being the 2nd in Thailand and 32nd in Asia Pacific.

Thailand Tourist Arrivals

Karl Hudson, Marriott International's area vice president said: "We are delighted to be opening our second Courtyard branded property in Thailand in one of the hottest beach resort destinations – Pattaya. Pattaya has been growing in popularity attracting both business and leisure visitors. Our continuous growth in Thailand is of great importance to Marriott International and we look forward to expanding the presence of the Courtyard brand".

The announcement comes amid heightened investment sentiment for real estate in Thailand, particularly in resort areas where a shortage of coastal land for development has been pushing up prices over the last 12 months.

Business and leisure tourism has always been the mainstay of Thailand's economy and despite a year hampered by political unrest culminating with a military coup, visitor figures were back to boom by the fourth quarter of 2014.

During 2013, Thailand welcomed a record 26.55 million visitors and in spite of the brief spat of political unrest in 2014, they still hosted 24.78 million tourists, indicating that a trouble-free year would have broken all records for the country's tourism.

With great potential for demand growth in South Pattaya combined with short supply of affordable buying opportunities, the market dynamics are perfect for property investors. Savvy buyers are flocking to the beach resort to snap up what few homes may be available, confident that their investment will provide them with a healthy rental yield, not to mention long term capital appreciation.
